CDV’s or cartes de visite were first made in 1854. They were a thin paper black and white photograph glued onto a harder cardboard back. Popular until about 1910 they were smaller- about the size of a calling card, this the name. These 4 are in nice shape and depict some of the amazing dress of the time!
